A Song of Ascents.

,} ^cpersecuted me from my ^dyouth up,”
^eLet Israel now say,
2 ^{▼▼ Lit Much}“Many times they have ^{▼▼ Lit showed hostility toward}persecuted me from my youth up;
Yet they have ^hnot prevailed against me.
3 “The plowers plowed upon my back;
They lengthened their furrows.”
4 The Lord ⁱis righteous;
He has cut in two the ^jcords of the wicked.

5 May all who ^khate Zion
Be ^lput to shame and turned backward;
6 Let them be like ^mgrass upon the housetops,
Which withers before it ^{▼▼ Lit draws out}grows up;
7 With which the reaper does not fill his ^{▼▼ Lit palm}hand,
Or the binder of sheaves his ^pbosom;
8 Nor do those who pass by say,
“The ^qblessing of the Lord be upon you;
We bless you in the name of the Lord.”
